This is going to be a quickie (that's what he said), because I woke up with a headache (that's what she said) that hasn't quite gone away yet even with the amazing dose of meds I'm on...
I've had the headache allllllldayyyyyylooonnnnnng! with the accompanying nausea...ugh TMI!
Very Soon, It Is Going To Be Monday - I usually write and post these very late Sunday Nights, or you wouldn't even see them until late Monday nights...
Today was my mother's birthday, and for the very first time in forever, I sent her an e-card in time for her to open it today. Good thing because of the weird headache thing.
She lives in another country, so I am unable to call her with my cell phone, for some reason - yet she's able to call me. Maybe she gave me the wrong number...lol
Sheila at Book Journey is hosting this fun weekly meme - where we list what we've read, what we might read, what we're currently reading... sorry, I'm not up to pasting links - I'll possibly correct that tomorrow sometimes...as it is, we're lucky I've posted the book covers...
I finished reading Dark Space by Marianne De Pierres. Reviewed it. Great reading - especially for lovers of Sci Fi and Space Opera
I've continued to intermittantly read Marjorie M. Liu's Tiger Eye, which is a good book. It's suspense, romance, paranormal - yet written with Liu's style, which makes it palatable for me. :) I was going to focus on it this week, but became caught up on this book that I heard about...
Black Wings, by Christina Henry. Now, the premise was good, I heard there was going to be faeiries, demons, vampires, gargoyles along with a gay best friend... I'm a little irritated with this book. So far, there are MENTIONS of vampires, faeirie---there IS a gargoyle..and the gay best friend....barely there. So the book is ALMOST as good as I though it would be, and right now I am forcing myself to read it....I should know better than to go off half cocked because a few people gave it a good review.....
The exciting thing...the BEST thing, is that my book-faery sent me the UK covered version of River Marked by Patricia Briggs...I know it has no bearing on the story within, but I get a kick out of having the UK cover of a book here and there....This is why I'm struggling so hard to continue reading Black Wings....I know if I put it aside for River Marked, I'm not very likely to go back to it, especially after reading a Briggs book.
Maybe my headache is making me more bitchy than usual.....Maybe.
Happy Reading everyone - hope it's a good week for everyone (and me, please!)
My father's birthday was this week (turned 98) and so was my son's. Lots of good people born in March. Looks like you got some reading done and while I am not familiar with your titles I hope they were all good reads. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWow is the cover different on River Marked. I so need to get a copy of this book - LOVE the series! I hope you will stop by for a visit! http://www.lisasworldofbooks.com/2011/03/its-monday-what-are-you-reading_28.html
