Tuesday Teaser....and the biggest tease EVER

We've survived another Monday!!!

Miz B from Should Be Reading, hosts this weekly meme (Teaser Tuesdays). complete guidelines are at her site, but basically, you share two sentences from a random page of your current read. No spoilers - and as always, credit the author and the book.

Just in case you might have missed it, I have an excerpt of Suzanne McLeod's newest novel (her third) The Bitter Seed of Magic posted on a page on this blog. It's from Chapter 2, and it's a nice sized tease.

Tonight I have another little teaser from The Bitter Seed of Magic, this one is from chapter 3. I don't have the book in front of me...yet....But soon! So, from chapter 3 of The Bitter Seed of Magic...

Suzanne McLeod:
"I released the dead girl's hand and plunged both of mine into the mass of magic binding her, flinching as the dirty-white ropes writhed around my lower arms, feeling like cold slippery eels. Gritting my teeth, I ignored the rest of the circle’s distracting magic and focused on the rope spell. I called it and the ropes pulled away from the body with a nauseating sound like flesh being ripped from bone, and a sweet, rank smell assaulted my nostrils. Shuddering, I gathered the bundle into my arms and tried not to think how they were starting to resemble a mass of rotten intestines; or how the more I pulled at the ropes, the more the girl’s body twisted and jerked like a fish struggling to escape a hook."

I know, Wow, right?

Now, the book I'm currently reading, while waiting for The Bitter Seed of Magic - :) -

Bone Song by John Meaney

...Yet odd whispers began now, falling silent whenever Donal neared a sarcophagus or a mausoleum. It was almost as if -

Don't be insane.

As if the dead had grown afraid of him.

Tomorrow - a winner will be announced for the Nocturne contest...and I will have another contest.... :)

  1. Stopping by from TT. This one wouldn't interest me. We have two this week if you get a chance to stop by: one YA fiction (a giveaway) and one an inspirational memoir: http://ourstack.blogspot.com/2011/02/teaser-tuesday-breaking-night-and-you.html

  2. It's a bad sign when the dead are afraid of you. Great teasers!

  3. I have seen the McLeod books advertised quite a bit online lately. I checked the bookstore in the next town over and they didn't have it. I was hoping they would, so I could scim the pages and see it is a series I would be interested in. I haven't heard much about it as far as being worth the read or not.

Great Teaser, I hope you are enjoying your book. Here is my choice for this weeks Tuesday Teaser.
