Links and Stuff

Even though I read the press release, I know I'm going to type something wrong...so I'm putting this link up that will take you to a page that tells more about.....

Author J.A. Campbell's new foray into short story publications...(oops - I think it's a short story, wait a minute....yep - it's a short). It's all part of a new divisiion called Electric Shorts published by Echelon Press. Julie's story is titled Westward, Yo (which of course, I read with a street flair, but could just as easily be read with a cowboy accent tone...It's all on where you put the word emphasis *g*). Westward Yo is just one of the stories planned for this series titled Into the West, which will be published by Electric Shorts...part of Echelon Press. Whew! I think I got that all right. Double check, though, by clicking on the link above.

It sounds good - geared toward reluctant readers, between the ages of 7 and 17, and if I understand right, there will be horses in the stories. Other writers also, but the writer I'm concerned about is Julie. *g* aka J.A. Campbell.

It's all going to be in e-book form, so those of you with your new-fangled Kindles, Nooks and special e-readers will get another chance to get some good e-books that you can share with your kids. (or students)
Westward, Yo debuts March 8, 2011
Julie also has a blog tour page - click here - I have to admit here, that I don't understand blog tours, (really, I am not very computer saavy) and I guess I now have an opportunity to learn more about blog tours....(just when I thought I was done learnin')
Julie is also the very same J.A. Campbell who has been writing those wonderful Doc, Vampire Hunting Dog stories. She has a series of them on her site for our reading pleasure. I've read them, and believe me, she makes you feel like you're inside this dog's mind. Great story telling.

I just read an excerpt of this book - A Discovery of Witches (Deborah Harkness - reminds me of Dr. Who and Torchwood, the name of the author, not the book. *g* Captain Jack, come Back!) and I have to say it reads very well. I got to the excerpt courtesy of a link from Tor.com.
I want to buy it, only it's in hardback righ now....yet it's not too expensive....next paycheck!
Somthing I neglected to do on my review of Red Hot Property - I usually mention any sequels to a book if I review it. I knew that Devin O'Branagan had been working on Red Hot Liberty - the sequel to Red Hot Property, but for some reason I forgot to mention this last night.
And if you go here, you can visit the character page for Red Hot Property.
Red Hot Liberty will release in the spring of 2011.
Click here for a peak at the prologue of Red Hot Liberty and when you do go there - check out the sexy shoe.
And Now....For a couple of my favorite TV Shows
Modern Family- ABC Wednesday nights at 9 p.m.
Raising Hope - Fox TV Tuesday nights at 9 p.m.
Community - NBC -Thursday nights 8 p.m.
Perfect Couples - NBC - Thursday nights 8:30 p.m.
ummm, this could be why my reading isn't as prolific as it used to be...eh, only a smart part.

  1. I am 3/4 the way through the audiobook for The Discover of Witches---I love it! It is a very good tale and the author put an incredible amount of work into the research you can tell. Loving it so far!

  2. Mardel, thanks for the shout out :) You got it right :)

There are 12 authors participating, and Westward, Yo! is the first of six. They are kind of like serial stories, each story is a story into itself, but like a TV episode they build on the over all plot.
