banned book week
think about it
Of course I took too long to get started on this, and now it's very late (again!). My solution, a mostly link-less post.
A good paranormal romance, with good balance of real action and ...well...romance. Past the halfway mark, heading towards the finish!!!
written by J.K. Beck - her first paranormal romance

Over the halfway mark with The Replacement - good Young Adult novel....chills and goosebumps...
I wish I had more time for reading!

By Brenna Yovanoff - a debut young adult novel.
"Ask, and you might get..." I asked a couple of my sons for money for a bookstore run. I think they might have felt some sympathy for me...I hardly ever ask for money - (Who asks their kids anyway?) and they pooled some money for me to go bookstore shopping. The sweet things. :)

One thing I've learned,
Tanya Huff writes very well!
BRAINS.......
"A heartwarming tale of terror in the middle of the zombie apocalypse." -->
I've just skimmed a couple of pages, so far. Looks great, some laughs and a little bit of horror - can't miss with that mix!
Will be reading it soon.
Update on my 2010 Countdown Challenge. Well, I have 13 days to read about 20 or so books (rough estimate). I think I have massively failed on this challenge. Oh well. All you can do is try.
I'm sure there will be a 2011 Countdown challenge. If so, I'm going to try, and this time I'll focus on reading the earlier year books first, since it's extremely easy to read the books that are current releases. Of course, I'm using some of the books I had planned to read for the 2010 challenge, for the 2011 challenge. I wish they (I don't even know who they are) had put up somekind of post and pages to mark progress like a lot of other blogger who host challenges have done (check out Book Chick City, and Home Girl's book blog - links later, of course). They have pages for the challenge, and for the months. Great way to feel like someone is paying attention to the challenges.
Okay, later for now - of course, I need to get to sleep as once again, I'm wide awake and have to work tomorrow (or rather later today!)
I am currently listening to the replacement and am enjoying it a lot. Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHmm, 20 books in 13 days is just about possible, if you only read from now on! But gee, it's a challenge! If you were sure to finish it, what would be the challenge? Well done for trying! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Replacement is on my TBR stack. I hope to get to it this week. I also have the most recent Valor book by Huff. I do like her writing style too. I also have the Beck book on my Kindle. I am just getting buried in TBR books. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI loved When Blood Calls--it reminded me kind of a procedural if everyone were supernatural in some way. Really looking forward to the next one! I am about to (in 4 days) do a post of 2 challenges I failed: they end on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteThe Replacement sounds good. I hope you're enjoying it :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I laughed out loud when you said where you found your book.... thats just too funny! :)
ReplyDeleteI recently read my first Tanya Huff book. I enjoyed it so I may need to check out these ones.
ReplyDeleteOoooh The Replacement. I love the cover for that one. It sounds amazing. :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Tanya Huff's Child of the Grove and Last Wizard. I've never read her SF stuff though. Cool choices! :)
