I've missed a few, but it's time for another It's Monday...
It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. Everyone lists what we're reading, what we've read..etc.
The Recently Read:
Wicked Wives by Gus Pelagattia crime fiction based on true events set in the early 30's of last century.
God Save The Queen
by Kate Locke
Alternate London, alternate history - goblins, weres and vamps all from a plague...except for in this scenario only the aristocrats have been affected, and those who don't have blue blood are the regular humans... (good book)
The Ivory Prison by Ashlyn Daube (short E-story) interesting, beginning or part of a series
Current Reads
I've started quite a few books - but in my usual fashion, I lay them aside, start another one, forget to go back to one or the other. eventually, the plan is to find the books I've started and finish. haha. For Reals! :)
Turbulence by Samit Basu
The Trouble With Fate by Leigh Evans
Turbulence is SciFi - people with superhero type powers - interesting and great narration.
The Trouble With Fate is also a page turner - Fae and Weres, danger and mayhem.
I'm not familiar with any of your books this week...will be looking forward to reading your reviews of them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog!
~Kristin @ Always With a Book
:) Thanks for stopping by my blog, also! So many new books are out, it's amazing the sheer number of books. e-books, print books, anthologies, shorts....I love it. :)
DeleteLOL Catz! :) I think all of these books are new to me. I hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI think I just might be obsessed with LOL Catz. I'm having fun creating some, even though I don't feel as funny as a lot of the creations I've seen. The two I posted tonight are my own captions, but there's a lot that I've posted that are from the website. Love that website, always good for a chuckle or three. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, also.
I've received a few request to review the Gus Pelagatti book and didn't realize it was based on true events. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts.
ReplyDeletePS I'm glad to have found your blog today via Sheila's Monday Link-up. Mine is here.
If you read Wicked Wives, remember it's a first time author. And a lawyer. So sometimes it comes across dry, but I think he did a good job on making the dialogue fit with the decade. And I was able to finish the book, if I don't like a book I usually just give it up, or take FOREVER to read. ;)
DeleteI'm the same way. I just have too many books to read so will probably give this one a pass.
DeleteMe too, as far as too many books...My TBR pile is ever expanding, and I can't seem to finish more than one book a week, lately. I blame....internet. And Netflix...and Comcast. haha - has nothing to do at all with willpower, right? ;)
DeleteHave a three day weekend coming up and I love those, because I usually spend the day in my PJ's reading books. :)
The Leigh Evan's books look so good!! I will have to check them out!
ReplyDeleteoh it's good. I'm already looking forward to the second in the series, and I don't think it's even available yet...:)
DeleteGod Save The Queen looks wonderful! Thank you for stopping by Between the Bind!
ReplyDeleteI liked it- the narrative bordered on being a bit too....stiff or stodgy. But the whole premise kept me reading along with the plot, the fight scenes...ended up liking the book quite a bit.
DeleteIt seems like it's always one thing or another, right? Either we can't finish the books that we started or we just don't know which book to read next! Good luck finishing those books this week - I hope you love them both. :)
ReplyDeletehaha - or we get stuck watching shows like The United States of Tara, or Shameless on Netflix...
DeleteI have been watching Showtimes version of Shameless, just found the British version on Netflix...have to say, I prefer the actors in the American version. Less scrawny. The actors on the British version don't look right to me, except for Lip's character. Of course, if I had seen the British version first, I might think that one's better. Like with Being Human. Love the BBC version, hate the SyFy (American) version....
Good to see you back, all your books are new to me. Love visiting and seeing your fun cat pics. Have a great week and happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm having fun with the cat picks, and these two very good books. :)
