It's Monday! Summer Vacation Monday!!!

It's been two weeks since I've done a Monday Meme. Usually NOTHING keeps me from doing the Monday meme, but I was having a very hard time with my joints, back, shoulders and the weather! Oh Boy. We had a little mini-winter the last week of school and the week after. Seriously, it felt like we were in the dead of winter. We actually had thunder one day, hail, wind, rain, cold weather....the works. The temperature ranged from the low forty's at night to the 60's. Even when it was supposedly 60 some degrees, it felt much cooler because of the wind. Well, we have finally had some warmer weather and I'm grateful for it. Never ever thought I would be happy to feel warm weather - I've always been a cool weather kind of person. Not anymore. I'm not looking for any heatwaves, but I can now enjoy and appreciate a bit of warm weather.

I was able to get quite a bit more reading than usual in. {"In" where, you ask! well, that would be from the book to my head, on the couch, the bed, the car, the waiting room....etc. I know, you're not supposed to end sentences with words like "in". Too bad} In the last two weeks I've read at least 7 books and a few short stories....along with some children's books that I keep forgetting to keep track of. As a matter of fact, I'm not doing very well in posting novels to my two challenges that I'm participating in. At least I'm reading, though. :)

Once again! (yeay!) Hosted by Sheila of Book Journey, It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is that fun weekly meme where we list what we've been reading, and sometimes we list what we plan to read.

So, what follows is what I remember reading in the last two weeks.

:)

For the previous week {5/30 to 6/05}, I read these novels/shorts

The Outback Stars by Sandra McDonald
Mob Rules by Cameron Haley

Silver Rush by J.A. Campbell (short story)

For this past week {6/06 to 6/12} I've finished reading

Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews
Dead In The Family by Charlaine Harris
The Sugar Queen by Sara Addison Allen
Jemma7729 by Phoebe Wray
The Cure Marianne DePierres short story from the Parrish Plessis series (Nylon Angel)
From The Heart short story by John Meaney (Space New Opera 2; an anthology)

Currently, I'm reading the following novels. Two of them are in e-book form, which means I go back and forth between reading online and picking up my ppb. I've always been a huge fan of holding books in my hand...but I'm beginning to wonder what if would feel like to hold an e-reader in my hand for situations like ...oh....say.....reading books only available in e-book. It might be handy, and it's obviously going to stick around! :)

Currently reading Dead Iron by Devon Monk (ARC) *
Wild by Naomi Clark
Doc stories (Vampire Hunting Border Collie) by J.A. Campbell

* Now, you might not have notice, or might have noticed...there are at least three separate excerpts for Devon Monk's novel. Click on them, get a taste. In fact on most of the books/authors there will be at least two links - author link and excerpt link (when possible)
