A Challenge and a Book.

I was lurking around on a few blogs tonight, clicked on The Geeky Book Blogger - where I saw this new challenge - and it looks like a challenge I might be able to handle (LOL). Namely, read a few more books this coming year than the previous year. I can do that. Sure, no problem.....maybe. The challenge is Out Do Yourself Reading Challenge and is hosted by The Book Vixen.
Tonight, or rather today, I received a book package in the mail. Witch Hunt, by Devin O'Branagan. I love the cover of this book. It's dramatic. I like the font. It's dramatic without being too much. This book was previously released 20 years ago, but has been reworked and updated. I read the prologue as soon as I opened the book package up (or course!). It's going to be good. I was already angry at one man's reaction to his own fear, and to have a feeling right away in a book is a good sign. When you're reading a book and you feel nothing at all for any of the characters....then that's not a good sign. So I have hopes for this book. By the way, this is the same woman who has written Glory, the young adult novel I read recently. Although this book isn't young adult, it's intended for adults.
I should be able to finish Bitter Angels tonight - if I can stay off of Farmville and concentrate on reading tonight, or stop lurking around on other people's blogs....then I would love to sink into Witch Hunt. I should also go shopping for the grandchildren's X-mas gifts soon....but i don't feel like it. I just want to lay around and read. :)

  2. Hey,
Thanks for loving the cover! I do too. I'm the designer and I did Devin's earlier book Glory also. You're right this is a good read. You'll enjoy it. And by the way you can see other examples of my cover designs for an almost embarrassingly wide variety of books at my website.
www.suecampbellgraphicdesign.com Hope you don't mind the blatant plug. ;-)

  3. Sue, I don't mind the "blatant plug" at all - especially since you're so blatant about it....lol :)

I'm going over to take a look at your covers now.
