It's Monday....Okay, it WAS Monday, now it's Tuesday!

Hosted by Book Journey

Almost finished with this Only the Lonely. I'm enjoying it, but I did misplace it for a while. (B.A.D.D. or look here for another post by me about it)
Just started Magic Bleeds - One of those books that you buy and read as soon as you can, preferably dropping all other books so you can read it straight through! 'Cause you know it's going to be THAT good. Love this writing team. I'm also spending some grandma time with two grandchildren, so that's taking me away from reading for a bit (always a fun sacrifice!)

I've also continued to read Touched By An Alien, although I think I need to wait until I'm done with Magic Bleeds to give this book enough attention. It's a humorous book, and though I've only gotten through the first two chapters, I can tell I'm going to like it. The dialogue is good between characters so far (a major selling point for me) and at the moment I'm enjoying the main character's personality.

Finished reading Song of Scarabaeus (Still lovin' it) - wrote review

Finished reading Jasmyn - (Still thinkin' about it) - and wrote review

Bought Some Books -

And Now - for some Teasers for Tuesday (hosted by Miz B) taken from my current reads.
Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews
from page 40
"The vampire stared at me with glowing eyes and in their red depths I sensed a terrible hunger.
The attack poodle exploded into wild barking."
from page 41
" The vampire leaned forward, tapping my doodle with a scimitar claw. 'Is that a lion with horns and a pitchfork?'
'Yep.'
'Is he carrying the moon on his pitchfork?' "
Only the Lonely by Susan Gabriel
from page 76
"When she stopped to check her shoe, a faint sound of footsteps echoed in the distance. She turned her ears to the night air. The only sound was the distant rumble of thunder from the threatening sky."
I would have put in a teaser from Touched By An Alien, but it's in my room right now, and everyone is asleep. I might edit a teaser in later.

There are so many books I want to get through this summer. I'm hoping I can make a huge dent in my TBR pile. Which reminds me, two years ago I didn't know what TBR was. I didn't know how to upload pictures onto my blog, or even how to link things. A very nice person (one of the first persons to respond to any of my amateur posts) told me how to do it. She also writes very good fiction and is putting herself out there for publishing. Two years ago, I would never have dreamed of carrying on an ongoing correspondence with any authors, thinking they would never be interested in something that some goofy older woman had to say in a little city. But there is a wonderful writer (writes the best books ever!) that answers my e-mails and comments on my blog posts, even when I write essays for e-mails. LOL. I've been treated very well by most other bloggers and writers. This has been fun for me the last two years. I wish I could be more regular in my posting. I am working on my lurking issues. I tend to lurk, not commenting much because I'm a bit shy - even at my age. LOL. Blogger appreciation week is coming up, and I haven't really paid attention to what that entails, but I appreciate everyone who stops by and leaves a comment. I really never pictured myself maintaining a blog, writing reviews (I don't consider my reviews professional reviews at all, more like my opinions), or even interacting with anyone over the internet, but here I am.

  9. I think I picked a slightly misleading sample of vampireness in Magic Bleeds teaser. The teaser might have come across inferring that the vampires are sexy, but in this particular series, the vampires are pretty much mindless, other than their deep hunger - which is really hunger. They are controlled from afar by a necromancer - who is doing the talking in this teaser, using the vampire's body and voice box. Definitely no romance there - unless.....no - ugh! LOL - very tricky, yes?

Love the idea of an attack poodle. This one is an original poodle, which means a doberman sized dog. :) I used to think they were all little bitty things, but I guess not.
