It's Monday!!!!!!!!another Monday........ Time for It's Monday, What are you reading Meme hosted by the wonderful Sheila at Book Journey..... And I haven't done very much, although.....
I finally reviewed Hell Fire and Magic Bleeds.... Recap - I enjoyed Hell Fire, though not as much as the other four books by Ann Aguirre that I've read (Grimspace, Wanderlust, Doubleblind and Blue Diablo) I absolutely LOVED those books. Magic Bleeds - DAMN! damned good.
I finished reading Stormwalker - liked it quite a bit, enough to keep my eye out for the sequel, Firewalker. This is written by Allyson James (aka Jennifer Ashley) haven't reviewed it yet, because I'm having to pace myself at the computer, but soon. In the meantime, I would give it 5 out of 6 stars. Pretty kick-ass book. Enjoyed just about every page. POC character, also.
Stacia Kane's Unholy Ghosts - OH. MY. GOD. I'm very close to done, the only thing holding me up is all the other things I've had to do this week - this week when I'm supposed to be committing the sin of Lazyness and Sloth - but this is going to be another DAMN! moment. I've read Personal Demons, another series by Stacia Kane, but this books is a hell of a lot better - for me anyway.
Received an ARC of Waking the Witch, (Kelley Armstrong) which comes out in August. I think I'm going to read this one next, before I even think of picking up another book. For those of you who have been reading The Women of the Otherworld series, this is Savannah's story. Savannah was the teen that Paige ended up as guardian to - Savannah is the powerful teen witch whose mother, Eve died and was featured in the book Haunted and Angelic (novella). I can't wait to read this one, Savannah was on of my favorite characters in this series, and she's all grown up in this novel.
**I have to say here, that I've won a few ARC's from contests and I've always thought it was pretty cool to get a book that hasn't been out yet. I've only received two other books though for review in ARC form - Strange Angels and The Pack. Waking the Witch is the third ARC that I've received for the sole purpose of reviewing and I have to say, it feels fun. I've reviewed two other books that were given to me for review, but they weren't ARC's. Just as fun, though. (Only the Lonely and Rally Fever)
In between Babysitting and doctor/pharmacy visits, I'm trying to get as much reading as possible done. I have a project I need to get started on, but it involves physical movements, I'll have to take it slow. I need to go through my closet and get rid of clothes that I don't wear. This is hard for me. I also have an insane amount of clothes in baskets...waiting for me to feel like putting them away. This is hard for me also....It's going to involve asking for help...maybe I can get the girlfriends to help. I can offer them....candy? popsicles?....something. We can put on music, go through clothes.... I know they'll help me, it's just a matter of getting everyone to gether at the same time. That's the way the girlfriends of my sons are. They have helped me wash my hair, do dishes, chop of food when I'm cooking and my arms fail me...They are very cool girls to have around.
Time for bed - the last week I've been awake until 4 or 5 a.m. I wouldn't mind sleeping on a more normal schedule. All the past years of working night shift have twisted by body's clock around....Except that I can remember reading books until very late (4 or 5 a.m. or until the skies lightened up for morning) at the age of 10 on up, so I can't really blame my sleep patterns on night shift work. I had to do a sleep-study the other night, and since the machine HAS to be back before 10 a.m. I had to re-schedule my night for a Friday night, when I would be allowed to turn in the machine anytime before 4 p.m. More my schedule. Of course, I couldn't sleep very much the night I was all hooked up. What a pain!
