It's Monday.......

It's very early Monday Morning. My Granddaughter is once again on my sid of the bed. We had a birthday party for my Grandson - correction, My middle son (the daddy) put on a part. The hardest thing I did was make the hamburger patties and slice some tomatoes. Hey! I haven't cooked in a long time.
The party was fun, the boy got some very nice presents. I had taken my Granddaughter to the store a few weeks ago and she picked out a mini-football for him, so I put her name as the "from" and she gave it to him. It was cute, and she was so excited to give it to him. As everyone was leaving she didn't want to go - wanted to stay with us, so she's in my bed right now. It's a good thing we just put up a king sized bed! Went from a queen to king - not a big difference in measurements really, but it's a huge difference in space.

It's time for another It's Monday, What
are you reading? post hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey.

I have just finished Magic on The Storm and it was just as good as the other three Magic books by Devon Monk. If you haven't read any of these books, then you are missing out. It's best to start at the first book (Magic to the Bone), as things get more intense and involved with each book. There is also an overall series story arc (see? Book Plot Terms - I knows some!)
I haven't reviewed it yet, nor have I reviewed Herbert's Wormhole, which I finished reading a week ago - and I'd like to write a micro-review on Blind Spot - the short story by Meljean Brooks that I read a while ago. Haven't been able to do much review though, as I've been very, very busy kind of.......existing. HAHA. No really! It takes energy to exist. Ask anybody. Some people do it better than others. Sometimes I talk nonsense, also. :)

Currently, I am reading Need by Carrie Jones. I'm about halfway through it, and it's been an interesting Young Adult read. I love the cover on this novel.

I'm also in the midst of reading a few other books, books that I've listed before, and books that I pick up for a few minutes then remember that I'm trying to focus on one book at a time (B.A.D.D. - remember this completely authentic, yet made up affliction of mine?) Right at the moment though, my brain feels like mush, and I cannot remember** the names of more than one (Vicious Circle, by Mike Carey - which is shaping up to be a good read also!)
For Mother's Day my oldest son (OMG, OH MY GOD! my oldest son is 30 years old - I feel OLD sometimes!) gave me cash money - I bought three books from writers that I've never ever heard of before..... Excerpt of all three books under covers.

Moonshine by Alaya Johnson

Song of Scarabaeus by Sara Creasy

Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch (I can't help wondering about this - is the CH pronounced like a "k" as in some other words? if so, what an unfortunate combination of a name, especially combined with the book title. Was this done on purpose or pure coincidence? ummm immature? me? hey, I'm close to being a senior citizen. I'm entitled to some bad behaviour once in a while!)

I'm taking a chance on these totally new-to-me authors, but that's what's fun about getting books with gift money.
Thanks 30 year old son of mine! mami loves you!
**always look for the silver lining in every cloud. If I have a memory problem, which a lot of people tend to get as they age, well then, many of my books will be just like new when I re-read them. :)

  5. It's Koch like the former Mayor of New York, or scotch whiskey, not like a proud rooster in the morning. ;-D (Yeah, I get that all the time...)

Hope you enjoy "Touched by an Alien"!
