Well, The Cold Kiss of Death was my 24th book read this year. My goal for the year is 30 books. So, if I get to the 30th book by the end of the summer (which for me will be August 12, 09) Then I think I should add ten more books to my self-imposed goal. This has been good for me. I used to be an avid reader. I used to go through 4 books a week (while working). But the past few years have kicked my butt in a number of ways, and for a while I couldn't concentrate on any one book. There was a 6 month period where I didn't finish one book, although I started reading more than ten book (probably more like 20, I kept misplacing them). There are sometimes when it's difficult for me to actually hold a book, much less hold it open. Now if I have that trouble I just lay it on a pillow on my lap and use two hands to hold the book open. This is easier with harbacks and trade paper backs, than with mass market sized. Although mass market sized books are easier to handle one handed, when possible.
I was going to read White Fang for the Colorful Reading Challenge, but now Black and White is out, so I can use this book for the color white. I'm going to go start reading it right now.
Wow, good job! You're really close to meeting your goal.
ReplyDeleteenjoyed reading your reviews; was also interested in looking over your book shelf. I once had cyber-sex with someone who use the name Bad-to-the-Bone, but that's a whole other story! lol.
ReplyDeletejesus christ, I laughed so hard when I read the last comment. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI have 7 grandkids. I ressponded to this question on my blog, but didn't know if you would see it. 2 of my grandkids are my youngest one's step daughters and I love them like my own..they've been part of the family for 8 years. The oldest girl is 22 and I don't have a recent pic of her.
ReplyDeleteGlad I gave you a laugh! After I typed that, I was hoping you wouldn't be offended! Phew!
I don't get offended by much....I think the older you get the less offended? Maybe it's just me, or my generation. Growing up in the 60/70's doesn't leave you too prudish.
