It's Monday, and I'm a little late posting this...

I haven't posted in this meme for quite a while.  Christmas, a general slowdown of reading, and some serious exhaustion.  Two weeks off from work (I work at a school) for winter break, two weeks of lazing about, two weeks of sleeping when ever I feel like, and two weeks of only changing when I feel like (what!!??!!  Pajama Day! for days) has done wonders.  Though I could have used a third week. ;)  So, though it's kind of late to be posting - at least I'm posting. :)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is the weekly meme hosted by Sheila of Book Journey.
We list what we've been reading and check out what others have been reading.
After the reading slump that I've been in, I've surprised myself by actually finishing three books in one week.  That's a renewed record for me - I used to finish four books a week, but then my grandchildren were born and my reading seriously took a beating.  It's more the norm for me now, to finish two books;  lately it's been more like finishing one book a week.  Worse yet, there are some weeks lately that I don't actually finish reading ANYthing.  Which is so very weird for me.

Finished Reading:

I finished reading Blood and Feathers by Lou Morgan  Good book, once I decided to focus on it, I read it straight through.

Then I went right into Croak, by
Gina Dimaco.  It was YA, but a fun YA, with what I thought was kind of an abrupt ending - though I have to admit, it did make me want to read the sequel to find out if they ever catch...well - spoiler if you haven't read it yet.
I bought Magic for a Price by Devon Monk the MINUTE (okay, the DAY) it was released, 'cause I just had to have it.  Then I put off reading it for a while.  I think because it is the final book of the series.  thankfully, there will be more books featuring Shame and Terric in Portland, but it's the end of Allie Beckstrom's story.  Of course it was a good read, and Devon Monk is an excellent writer.

And finally, I've read three of the short stories in the anthology Dragonthology.  I've started a fourth story in it, but I've never been a huge fan of WW1 or WWII setting for reading, so it's kind of hard for me to focus on it.  The other stories look interesting though, so I plan on reading the rest of the anthology this week.  This is fun anthology, with some amazing talent in the pages.
I had a guest post by Troy Lambert, one of the writers featured in Dragonthology.  The post was interesting.  I'm pretty sure there's still a contest going on also for a $25 Amazon card, which would be fun to have.  There's also a blog tour happening - the next stop is January 8th at Bea's Book Nook and another one at The Loyal Book.  Tour Schedule is here.

Currently Reading

I'm currently reading (or rather recent current reads are...) two books, both of them steampunk.

The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook and The Doomsday Vault by Steven Harper.  I can already tell that I'm going to like Meljean Brook's book, because she's a very good writer, I've been reading her for a while.  Of course there's that whole thing where you might like one series, and not another....  With The Doomsday Vault though, I'm not sure.  I've read about 80 pages and I'm still not sure if I like it or not.  Not sure why, but it was too easy for me to put down.  We'll have to see.  Of course, I might have to wait awhile after reading The Iron Duke.  palate cleanser thing.

That's about it...except for
an LOL Cat - can't take credit for this one - found it months ago on LOL Catz
