Heeeeere, KittyKitty...
It's going to be a maniacal monday.....mainly because I haven't been able to sleep at ALL during the nights....whole other post though - a little tease though - I was searching for one of my books and ended up REARRANGING a whole bookcase. I shelved the children's books by SIZE, and TYPE! One shelf has hardbacks, from tall to short. The next shelf up has paperbacks on one side - of course from big (bottom) to little (top) in a stack. THEN next to those are board books - those hardy little book with boards instead of paper. Only they aren't really boards, (that would weigh way too much, silly!) but extremely thick, stiff board-like paper. Survives quite a bit of abuse. I know this, as I've brought up three boys and a girl - all rough with the books. Well, after I'm through with my obsessive little task, I realize there is another bookcase in the entryway with another shelf full of children's books Not only that, but I also have a bookcase in my bedroom with....yes, another shelf of children's books. I believe the thought behind this was to have some books available in my room so I can be lazy and read to the little angels on my bed. Lazy, lazy. That's Me. I'm all about the lazy - especially after a long day at work.
:)
Well. Let's just start this over, shall we?
:)(:
Today is Monday. (In case you weren't sure) I like this meme - kind of helps me keep in mind what I had planned to read, what I've recently started and possibly misplaced, what I might want to read later....
It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila over at OneJourney. There are guidelines {which, admittedly I always forget to follow, but I get the gist of the meme down. :) }
Last week I put up reviews for books that I had read the previous week
- The Dead & The Gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer
- Waking the Witch by Kelley Armstrong
I started reading Darkness Calls and Goblin Quest.
- I finished and reviewed Darkness Calls
- still reading Goblin Quest - a bit here and there
Coming up or rather, exploring these four novels,
- Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane - second in the Downside series, a gritty series with tarnished characters
- Goblin Quest by Jim C Hines - goblins, stacia kane
- hobgoblins, elves, dwarves, mild humor, this is a light read
- Sister Chicas by Lisa Alvarado, Ann Hagman Cardinal, and Jane Alberdeston Coralin - I believe I hit the jackpot when I bought this book $3.99 at Borders! Not only is it a novel by THREE Latina women (all multi-talented women), there is a 15 page glassary of phrases (I may be spanish, but I'm not fluent), some recipes for comida (flan, yummm) AND a suggested list of reading by Latino writers. wow
- Little Beauties by Kim Addonizio - a woman with OCD, failed marriage, alcoholic mother: A pregnant teenager; and a baby.
Usually it's a toss up on which book will stick with me long enough to finish reading it, but I'm fairly sure this time it's going to be Unholy Magic. Then Sister Chicas looks prettty good - it's YA, POC, and 2006 (for the reading challenges)
Mty computyer is being very spazmatic - I can't even see what I'm ttyping until three minutes after I'm through ttyping whatever I'm typing - it's disconcerting to say the least. As well as frustrating-dumb-assed computers - this is making it hard to edit.....
Sister Chicas sound good. Hope you enjoy it. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteYou have an eclectic list of books on your list. I am looking forward to both Waking the Witch and reading Stacia Kane's novels, none of which I have yet read. My TBR pile is starting to look like Mount Everest lately.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week! And I enjoyed reading your post, too funny!
I Love rearranging book shelves! Just wish I had more shelves to go with all the books! LOL.
