Giveaway - Stormwalker

My copy of Stormwalker is very gently used (rare for me, lately!)
To celebrate that a book has survived me in fairly good shape, I'm going to try a giveaway
Stormwalker is written by Allyson James
If you're looking for a POC main character book to read, this is a good one.

To enter;

  1. be a follower
  2. leave a recommendation of another poc book - and the genre in the comments of this post
  3. have a way for me to contact you (blog name, etc)
  4. open until July 16
  5. UPDATE - okay for international entries.

  1. I have heard good things about this book, I'm looking forward to reading it someday! recommendation, have you tried the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs?

  2. Oh Heck Yeah! Love those books - they're on my autobuy. One of these times I'm going to just post about the 20 or 25 autobuy authors that I read -

I'm looking for books that are from POC authors, which are hard to find.

Actually, one that I'm reading now, Moonshine is by a POC author, which I found out after I bought it, so that was a nice surprise.

Thanks though for your recommendation - and you're entered in the giveaway (my very first entry!)

  3. Ok, so - recommendation... is lacking. But I've been told I could tell you about the POC in my next WIP, which is something I set aside to rewrite Arabian Dreams. I don't know if she really counts, because she's a Nightmare in reality, but in her human form when she doesn't have all of her powers to control her appearance, she has midnight black skin and flaming red hair, though it's not actually flaming unless she's in her nightmare form. Long story condensed, she gets attacked by some demons and they steal half her soul. She escapes into the human world and has to get some help getting her soul back before she gets stuck as a human. In the process she and her help foil a larger plot by the demons.

  4. This sounds great! I have been seeing it around the blogs and have put it on my wish list - would love to win it! I am sure you have read these, but - I would recommend Kim Harrison and her Rachel Morgan series. I also truly suggest that you read Strange Brew, it's an anthology but it gives you a little bit by a few greats and maybe you can go from there.
Please enter me in your contest and thanks for hosting.

  5. Phoenix - love your synopsis. You know I'm ready to read it anytime! I'm pulling for you to get published - wish I had some real pull!

Bevely - thanks for the recs - :)

  6. Have you tried the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter? it's an urban fantasy genre. it's a Really great series.

  7. Thanks for the giveaway! I've only recently discovered your blog and I'm loving it :)

My reccommendation would be Justine Larbalestier.
