waiting on wednesday? (waiting for PAYDAY!)

Right now, I'm sitting here listening (trying to listen) to the Queens of Comedy which is playing on the LOGO channel. I find the LOGO Channel (Gay and Lesbian programming) very interesting. They play Buffy the Vampire, RuPaul's Drag Race, Queer as Folk, and various Indie films that are interestingly not as formulaic as your typical Hollywood film. I wonder if I was single if I'd be a "fag-hag". One of those ladies that hang out with mainly gay men..... Back to the Queens of Comedy. I have a feeling that this is a funny show, but I can't really tell, because all I'm getting is a bunch of beep, beep, beep-beep, beepity-beep etc. It's 1:30 in the morning on a cable show, on a station that has films and shows with kissing m/m, f/f and lots of butts - Why are they beeping out so many words? Might as well NOT show it, who can even hear the jokes these undoubtly funny women are throwing at the audience? Really now, this is cutting edge, Gay and Lesbian programming on it's own channel! Wouldn't have seen that available 15 years ago! and now we're worried about swear words in the middle of the night? or off-color phrases that use regular words? (head) Waste of time - I should just rent it and watch it beep-free.

Sorry - little mini rant there
Now on to the actual Waiting On Wednesday

Ladies, or Gentlemen (or other):

The U.S. edition of The Sweet Scent of Blood by Suzanne McLeod (A favorite author) is due out next week - NEXT week. On the 27th to be exact. This one is worth buying. I'm excited for Ms McLeod because she's been such an approachable author/person. Friendly to her fans from "across the pond"... BTW, if you happen to be participating in the Typically British Reading Challenge, Suzanne McLeod is British.

Magic on The Storm is coming out - May 4th. That is in TWO weeks. The author, Devon Monk is another one of my favorite authors.

And yet ANOTHER of my favorite authors is releasing two books this year - Magic Bleeds on May 5th (Kate Daniels series) and Bayou Moon - Book 2 of the Edge coming in October of 2010. (Ilona Andrews)
There is some VERY good reading ahead for us!

Those are just four of the books I'm looking forward to, wishing I could get them sooner. I've read The Sweet Scent of Blood, (already own it) but I'm buying it for a present for someone.

  2. Suzanne, I'm so jealous of you right now....Oh well, I'll get to read it very soon. :) (especially as fast as my life is flying by)

Mr Lonely - I visited your blog - I only had time to read one post, though, because I'm between worksites right now. I'll look at more later. Nice blog to you too.

  3. I don't mind the swearing or the sex - I hate violent shows.

  4. Violent Shows - that cracks me up too, most of the T.V. shows on primetime feature some type of violence. Or, the aftermath of violence (csi) and usually seem to feature women - young women that have been violated and tortured. They're frequently left in suggestive poses....But use the wrong word and OH-BOY!. Some of the words they were bleeping on the comedienne show were words that get heard on regular tv, quite a bit! They were beeping the CONTEXT! so hypocritical.
