It's Monday....

I can't believe another week has already gone by. Life is rushing past me, so fast. So here we are ready for another Monday and another Monday Meme hosted by Sheila.

Today I'm reading Silverborne by Patricia Briggs. Silverborne is part of the Mercedes Thompson, Skinwalker series. This is one of my favorite series. I do have to admit here that I have a large amount of favorite series. What can I say? I love the books

I finished and reviewed The Help last week. I don't have any plans on what to read next, because I don't know what I'll feel like reading. I should read another young adult. I have quite a few sitting here waiting for me to pick them up. Maybe that's what I'll do, urban fantasy, young adult, urban fantasy, young adult....and so on. :)

I also finished and reviewed Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells.

I still have to read the second of Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers books.

I have the first and second of Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers here.

I have the first of Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy books...I think it's called Vampire Acadamy.

I have Wings by Aprilyne Pike

a few others sitting on the shelf that I can't remember the name of just now. I need to get busy with these young adult novels, but reading young adult is fairly new to me. The few that I've read though, I've thoroughly enjoyed.

Still hoping to finish reading Herbert's Wormhole to the 3rd and 4th grade classes - assemblies interfered with this last week. And though I already finished reading to myself Anything But Typical, I still need to finish reading it to the 5th grade class. We're very close to the end, which is a very cool ending.

  1. So many good books. The Help was one of my favourite reads last year and I've read Moon Called but do want to continue on with the series because everyone seems to love it.

I loved The Summoning and The Awakening and really enjoyed The Vampire Academy series, you can't go wrong with any of your choices. Happy reading :-)

  7. I'm not big on vampire books, or fantasy in general, but when I find a series I like I tend to plow through it!

  8. I loved The Help when I read it. Silver Borne is one I keep seeing around - I have not read them but the more I see of it.... it is growing on me. :)

  9. I haven't read any of those vampire books - might be worth looking into! There are so many of these kinds of novels/series out there now though.

    Have a great week!

  10. I've wanted to read The Vampire Academy books for awhile now and just haven't gotten to them. Next month I get to read The Help, can't wait!

  11. The1stdaughter - I've always wanted to read them too, and there's like six or fifty of them out. Richelle Mead is just a writing fiend!

Bookmagic and Cat - I totally agree

T - there are a lot out there. Quite a variety too, some for everyone's taste, funny, superromantic (mushy), horror-fest, urban fantasy type, etc.

Sheila - start with the first book, Moon Called. You don't have to read them all in order,(a little is explained about previous books), but it's better reading if you do.

Elizabeth. I do too, or I'll go on an obsessive search for anything an writer I like has ever written.

Laurie, thanks for the award, I'll have to go look. Also, I think Patricia Briggs is one of the best urban fantasy writers out there - she also writes straight fantasy (Dragon Blood, Hob's Bargain, etc.) and her other series (Cry Wolf is the first) is more romantic style - like a paranormal romance. Though they're all well-written, I prefer the Mercy Books to the Cry Wolf (omega series)

Becky- thanks! I really HAVE been having a lot of fun with books lately.

Alaine - Definitely, read it when you can, it's great.

Jan Von Hurz - Is Wings tame enough for middle grade? I want to read it, but I also want to put it in our library, and I'm getting anzy about it since we only have 6 more weeks of school, or seven.

Teddyree - oh for sure, The Help was wonderful. I think also that the Mercy books (Moon Called and beyond) get better with each book. The third one is a little heartbreaking - things happen to Mercy that resonate with the following books, but Mercy is a strong character.

Enjoy your reading week also, everyone.
